General Information
Topsfield Soccer is a recreational/developmental program for youth soccer; open to all participants ages 5 - 17.
Registration: Please read these notes before you register for Topsfield youth soccer-
Many questions are answered here!!
On-line Registration is seasonal, with the next season's registration opening during the last 4 weeks of the current
playing season.
New late registration fee structure- In town (U6 and U8) late registration fees: U6 will not have late fees U8 will be charged an additional $10 for late registration. Travel team (U10 and older) late registration fees: All travel age groups will be charged an additional $25 for late registration . Any travel player who registers anytime after the late registration period will be charged a $50 fee. Team placement may be effected for any player missing the regular registration period. Paying by check: Checks will no longer be accepted- The option to "Pay by alternate method: check" has been removed from online registration- only credit card transactions will be valid. Fall 2010 teams will be formed based on the number of players registered and parents will be contacted at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the season regarding team placement.
Please register for appropriate age group by birthdate!! Birth certificates are checked by the Essex County Youth Soccer
Association (ECYSA). Requests to play up an age group
should be added to the "Notes" section of the registration form during check-out.
Coaches: Please register for the age group and gender you would like to coach, and fill out the TAA CORI KidSafe form at
the link above under the "Current Coaches Information" heading- Also, include a photocopy of your driver's license and give
the completed materials to your age group director.
We'll need a 1 inch by 1 inch color photo for your passcard if you're a new coach
Players new to Topsfield Youth Soccer: Register online (above) and send a copy of your child's birth certificate.
A 1 inch by 1 inch (approx.) photograph is required for and U10 or above player with player's name and Fall 2010 age group written on the back to: TAA PO Box 80 Topsfield, Mass 01983 Digital Alternative: Register online, fax birth certificate to 978 561 1734 , then send a digital photo with players name and Fall 2010 age group identified in the file name to: taasoccer@yahoo.com Uniforms:We have received many questions regarding uniforms- any U10 and older player who purchased a uniform in the past does not need to purchase a new uniform for Fall 2010... you own the uniform you have--you can use this uniform for as long as it lasts/fits, including for indoor soccer. U10 and older players who do not own a uniform yet must purchase one to play this season. Uniforms can be purchased during a uniform "Open House" to be held at prior to the start of the Fall 2010 season. Dates, times and venue will be announced to every registered player by e-mail. U8 uniforms should be returned to the coaches directly after the end of the playing season.

Field Use:
IMPORTANT FIELD INFORMATION ! ALL Fall 2010 GAMES AND PRACTICES WILL BE HELD AT KLOCK PARK!!!!
- Klock Park: U6 through U16
Age group Programs-Instructional:
The U6 program is a fun instructional program designed to introduce our youngest participants to the game of soccer.
The program runs on Saturday afternoons at Klock Park in the Fall, Sunday afternoon at Klock park in the Spring
(due to T-ball schedule conflict).
The U6 program is targeted towards children entering Kindergarten in the Fall and at least 5 years of age.
The U8 program is a team-based developmental program for boys and girls. Practices are held once a week on
(weekday TBA) and games are played on Saturday morning at Klock North.
The program is targeted towards children in first and second grade.
Age group Programs-Competitive:
U10 through U18 is a recreational/competitive travel program that participates with the Essex County Youth Soccer
Association league. U10, U-12 and U14 games are played on Saturday
in both the Fall and Spring seasons and U16-U18 games are played on Sunday in the Spring only. Schedules, field
directions and game cancellation information can be found on the
Essex County Youth Soccer Association (ECYSA) website at http://www.ecysa2.org
The U10 program is targeted towards children in third and fourth grade. The U12 program is targeted towards children
in fifth and sixth grade. The U14 program is targeted towards children
in seventh and eighth grade. The U16 program is targeted towards children in ninth and tenth grade. The U18 program
is targeted towards children in eleventh and twelfth grade.
*Age-group determination is based on a July 31st cutoff date*
Championship tournament: Division/League champions are eligible to participate in a post-season championship tournament in June. TAA sponsors a one week summer soccer camp, usually held the last week in June, facilitated by a third party organization. |
